The Ocean?
inspired by "Balls and Pins"
What you saw was me
a turbulent equanimity:
Violent waters finding peace
to then find violence once again
and again—
Of course, these are only good and bad to you
Days of purpose and
days of pain
This, I am sure, you now understand.
What you saw was the grander picture,
lines between winds and water blurred:
a metaphysical image of ebb and flow
Things made sense, didn’t they?
Things always seem to make sense
when you pull away
when you retire the narrative
and become as the atoms in my body
What you saw was an idea that your species tries to encapsulate with futile letters
but fails to do so
You can’t really name what you can’t fully know.
Yet, you can try
Now then,
Is it fair to say
that what you saw
was God?
